ACD INDUSTRIAL VACUUM CLEANERS

Safety for environments not classified as ATEX but with combustible dusts

At RGS Vacuum Systems, we are aware that many companies operate in environments where the ATEX directive does not apply and therefore there are no classified areas, but where combustible dusts are still present and pose a real safety risk. That is why we offer a range of ACD-certified vacuum cleaners: solutions designed to vacuum combustible dusts in non-ATEX classified areas, guaranteeing high performance and reduced ignition risks.

What does ‘ACD’ mean?

  • The EN 60335-2-69 standard defines the requirements for portable, mobile or stationary vacuum cleaners that must handle combustible dust in common environments, i.e. those that are not ATEX certified.
  • ACD (Appliances for Combustible Dust) certification requires specific precautions: antistatic filtration, earthing, materials and components tested with IP X4 protection rating to minimise the risk of any possible sparks or ignition sources.

Distinctive features of our ACD vacuum cleaners

In our design, every ACD extractor incorporates:

ComponentSafety function
Antistatic filtersEfficiently retain fine dust, reducing the risk of flammable accumulation
Integrated grounding systemElectrostatic charges are safely discharged
Conductive materials where necessaryPrevent the generation of isolated electrostatic charges
Electrical partsProtected with IP X4 rating, which prevents the ingress of hazardous dust
Closed design with secure closuresPrevents dust from escaping into the environment

Advantages for those who choose ACD vacuum cleaners

Maggiore sicurezza-01

Increased safety

Reduced risk of ignition and explosions caused by combustible dust

normativa-01

Regulatory compliance

Even if ATEX certification is not required, the use of ACD devices helps to comply with current workplace safety regulations.

versatili

Versatile application

Ideal for a wide range of sectors such as woodworking, flour processing, paint manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, light metals, 3D printing, etc.

Miglioramento produttivo del tempo

Operational efficiency

Good suction capacity, simplified maintenance, and better protection for the operator and equipment.

Risparmio economico

Lower economic investment

Compared to Atex versions, while still ensuring operator safety.

When to use an ACD vacuum cleaner instead of an ATEX vacuum cleaner

ScenarioACD is sufficient if…An ATEX extractor is required if..
Unclassified areathe environment is not defined as an ATEX Zone by internal regulations or risk assessmentthe environment is classified as   Zone 22, 21 or 20 for combustible dusts
Type of dustnon-conductive or low-reactivity combustible powders, moderate densityConductive metal dusts, high reactivity, high chemical risk
Frequency/Dispersionoccasional or localised operationsconstant presence or risk of dust accumulation in enclosed or difficult areas

Our proposal RGS Vacuum Systems

We offer a line of ACD vacuum cleaners that combines:

  • Robust materials and certified components
  • Multi-stage filtration (including HEPA filters where required)
  • Wheeled solutions, sizes suitable for small workshops up to industrial production
  • Accessories that aid operational safety: antistatic and reducing dust dispersion accessories, closed containers

The entire single-phase and three-phase range is available in the ACD version.
