PNEUMATIC CONVEYORS IN VACUUM DILUTE PHASE
The pneumatic conveyor generates a vacuum inside the conveyor pipe and the product is sucked from the pick-up point towards the conveyor itself.
The material is taken and, by means of a transport tube, sent inside a container, where the separation between the product and the air takes place. The air sucked during transport is purified by a filter and expelled from the vacuum source. The whole process is managed by a control unit.
The pneumatic conveyor in the diluted phase, defined as “low pressure” is characterized by the low efficiency ratio of kg produced per kg of air.
The air velocity inside the pipes is generally between 20 and 40 m/s with a maximum depression of 400/500 mbar. The speed of the product particles is significantly lower, but such that the material cannot be stored in the transport line.
It is recommended for handling powders and granules, non-abrasive and fragile materials. Suitable for the pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, food and confectionery industries.
